The Performance Marketing Summit is sneaking up fast on us – it’s just weeks away in New York City on Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
So, I wanted to let you know what you’re in for if you’re going to be one of the 200 industry folks inside the room that day.
First, there are some things that won’t be there – no keynote, no exhibit hall, and no Meet Market. Just people together to network and learn.
We’ve worked up a busy, fun agenda filled with networking and a series of short, 20-minute sessions from a variety of performance marketing leaders.
The day starts with opening remarks from Emcee Scott Allan, SVP Global Marketing at Rakuten LinkShare, followed by a talk from me (Shawn Collins) about how I turned some bad experiences into a great lifestyle change.
Then we’ll have Brian Littleton, President/CEO of ShareASale talking about how to properly segment your affiliates, build appropriate attribution models, and motivate them to provide the value that you want; and Bjorn Hougaard, VP of Neverblue, on the various promotional types, their pros and cons to an overall mobile marketing strategy, and highlights from relevant case studies.
After that flurry of stories and information, we’ll have a Networking Break.
This is followed by Gary Kibel, Partner at Davis & Gilbert LLP, on do not track (DNT) and how the affiliate marketing industry needs to consider the impact if DNT should be become a reality and widely adopted.
All of this intense business goodness rolls right into a Networking Luncheon in the same room.
After we all get our fill, Scott Jangro, President of Shareist, Inc., will tell us what he learned about content creation while building a publishing platform.
Jonathan Stefansky, CEO of Viewbix, is up next to explore how affiliates and other businesses are leveraging mobile and social networks to drive more leads and sales; followed by Robert Glazer, Managing Director of Acceleration Partners. who will be discussing the timely question of whether last clicks should still rule?
You’re probably dizzy with excitement and anticipation just thinking about this, so we’ll have another Networking Break (just count to 5 in your head to take a little break right here before you continue reading).

Then we’re in the final stretch with John Federman, CEO of Dailybreak, on behavior-driven gamification in performance marketing; Ilya Lichtenstein, CEO of MixRank, on rapid media buying at massive scale; and Amber Paul, Vice President of Business Development at Globalwide Media, on how affiliate marketing helps brand exposure.
Emcee Scott Allan will then wrap things up, and we’ll head off to a Cocktail Power Networking Hour (and a half) at Rodeo Bar NYC for their world famous Margaritas and Tex-Mex cuisine, as well as a whole bunch of networking and smiles.
A couple of factoids about Rodeo Bar NYC – not only is it NYC’s longest running honky tonk, but it’s also a block from where I lived when I first moved up to NYC in the 90′s, and I used to go there.
